Cold Flame
Ross is placed under military police custody and interrogated, being accused of Hughes's assassination in Central. During Ross' detention at a military prison jail, Barry the Chopper leaves the safehouse and launches a solo raid on the jail after reading a newspaper article about Ross' detention. Barry releases Ling after the prince promises that he would help him and also Ross, reminding her that she needs to leave Central immediately or risk being killed in detention. Edward and Alphonse run into the trio in Central with Barry holding off the Elric brothers to allow Ross time to get away. Ross then runs into Mustang, who kills her in a massive explosion. Edward later accosts Mustang, seeing Ross' charred body in an alleyway. Mustang coldly reminds Edward of his place as a soldier of the Amestrian military. Major Armstrong meets Edward at his hotel room, mentioning to him that he "needs" to return back to Resembool to have his automail arm fixed.
